Position Details:
We are seeking casual Bus Drivers to do bus runs from Norseman to Kalgoorlie once a week, most likely on a Thursday. All you will need is a MR (or above) driver’s license, a reliable and professional attitude, be community minded and be experienced in engaging with Aboriginal people. Working a 7.6 hour shift, one day a week - driving from Norseman to Kalgoorlie and return, (8:00 – 4:00pm, with a 30 min unpaid meal break). This position may extend to extra days in the future, depending on Community and Corporation demand.
• Conduct Prestart Checks on the Bus, including minor mechanical servicing tasks (fuel, air and oil). • Monitor and respond to emails containing pick up, delivery and maintenance requests. • Drive Community members on a return trip from Norseman to Kalgoorlie. Bus services may include trips to Esperance on additional days in the future. • Clean and maintain bus at the end of each shift. • Follow Health and Safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements. • Load and unload bus with goods for the Corporation when required.

Role Requirements:
• A valid Australian MR or above Class Driver's License with a clean driving record. • Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one. • First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain) • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Physically fit – will need to assist with pick ups and deliveries from time to time. • Ability to pass a Commercial Drivers Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen • Australian Work Rights • To live in Norseman or close by to be able to start the return journey from there. |
